Disclaimer: I haven’t tried running gel balls through it yet because I bought this for a Girls Frontline cosplay.
The HK416 is very nice, it’s a good weight (almost exactly 1kg with an unloaded magazine) and comfy to hold. The included functionality is really impressive; flip-up iron sights, attachable ACOG-like thing, telescopic buttstock, and interchangeable barrel tips (short orange, short black, long black). The fire selector is functional! (Safe/Single/Auto)
The drum magazine is a pig of a thing, it forces your left arm up to a bit of an awkward angle. That said, it probably holds about 4000 gel balls so I can’t imagine anyone complaining too hard. I’m pretty sure it has two motors in the mag, and there’s a little switch on the underside to select between feeding from the left or right. It drops out under its own weight when you hit the mag release button, so you can look extra tacticool while playing.
I bought the Gen 8 Magazine because I need a standard mag for cosplay. Happily, it fits snugly in the mag well and the gun will drive the motor, though it won’t drop out under its own weight or if you try to flick it out – you definitely have to mag-pul.

Quite an impulse buy, this actually holds more than it’s own as a gellie.
I was looking for a genuine rifle feeling rifle. I found it.
Hits solid, plenty of flight to the Gels, and a mostly adjustable stock make this quite good to skirmish with and comfortable while at it.
